“Anatomy of an AI Kill Chain”: Militaries Rely on Mistake-Prone AI in Ukraine, Gaza & Iran
The `AI Now Institute and Airwars jointly released a report titled “Anatomy of the AI Kill Chain”, stating that military forces around the world are engaged in an “AI arms race”. Heidy Khlaaf said that the report revealed that the AI kill chain consists of a series of interconnected algorithms with inherent flaws, resulting in civilian casualties in places such as Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran. Khlaaf emphasized that humans tend to directly accept AI recommendations without verifying them, leading to mistargeting.
