The 19th Pujiang Innovation Forum will be held in Shanghai from September 11 to 14, 2026. Hosted jointly by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the forum will focus on the theme “Sharing Innovation, Building the Future Together: The Mission of a Global Scientific Community in the Context of a New Round of Technological Revolution”. South Africa will serve as the guest country, and Hunan Province will be the guest province. The forum will revolve around four key areas: serving the country’s major strategic needs, deepening international scientific and technological cooperation, strengthening regional collaborative innovation, and enhancing exchanges among scientific and technological talents. It is planned to organize “1+1+24+N” events, including the opening ceremony and main forums. The opening ceremony will take place on the morning of September 12, at which time relevant measures and achievements will be announced. The 24 thematic forums will focus on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence in scientific research, brain-like intelligence, quantum computing, future medicine, and synthetic biology, as well as scientific policy and regional innovation issues. In addition, the forum will launch the brand “Pujiang Scientific Questions”, announce cutting-edge scientific issues, showcase hard scientific achievements and important research reports, and organize various youth science and technology exchange activities.
