The 2nm production capacity at Samsung Electronics’ Taylor Wafer Facility in the US is now fully booked for trial operations. The facility has received orders for Tesla’s AI5, Broadcom’s next-generation communication chips, and Arm’s edge AI chips. Trial operations are scheduled to begin in October 2026, with mass production expected in 2027. The initial monthly production capacity will be 50,000 wafers. Samsung’s yield rate for the 2nm process has increased from around 60% at the beginning of the year to approximately 80% recently. Additionally, Samsung is preparing for the construction of Taylor’s second wafer facility, which is expected to start construction within 2026 and achieve large-scale production by 2030. Currently, Samsung has requested its partners to obtain safety certifications for semiconductor equipment in advance, and some partners plan to form on-site staff teams to support the construction.
