As of August 24, 2026, the UAE is using self-developed artificial intelligence technologies to counter hacker attacks on its critical infrastructure and network systems. Facing increasingly complex cyber threats, the UAE government has decided to abandon traditional defense methods and instead launch a strategic plan to develop and deploy proprietary AI systems for real-time monitoring, identification, and interception of malicious hacker activities from around the world. This move marks a new phase in the country’s approach to cybersecurity, shifting from passive defense to active intelligent countermeasures, with the aim of enhancing its digital sovereignty and the resilience of its critical systems through technological upgrades.
The UAE has utilized artificial intelligence to counter hackers with armed artificial intelligence, successfully detecting and遏制 coordinated cyberattacks targeting the aviation, energy, and education sectors. Such new types of cyber threats emerged after the missile attacks on the Gulf in February. Currently, the UAE is using its own AI technologies to address this challenge and protect critical infrastructure from coordinated cyberattacks.
