Télé-Québec and Mila Join Forces to Harness AI in the Service of Quebec Culture | Mila
Télé-Québec, Quebec’s public media organization, and Mila, an artificial intelligence research institute, have announced a partnership to establish the first “liveness” laboratory. The goal is to use artificial intelligence to enhance the discoverability of Quebec’s cultural content. This initiative will be carried out jointly by both organizations, leveraging Télé-Québec’s expertise in content, audience insights, and digital experiences, as well as Mila’s strengths in AI research. Through applied research, they will identify the biggest challenges in harnessing AI and test solutions. The collaboration will focus on the viewing habits and preferences of the younger generation to enrich their interactive content experience. Hugues Sweeney, CEO of Télé-Québec, said that this partnership aims to use artificial intelligence to promote Quebec’s unique language, stories, and audience. Valérie Pisano, president of Mila, emphasized that this initiative will explore the discoverability, accessibility, and experience of cultural content, while promoting responsible use of AI.
