Executive Vice-President Virkkunen in the US for G20 Ministerial meetings
Henna Virkkunen, Vice President of Implementation for the EU, will attend the G20 Ministerial Meeting in North Carolina, USA, from August 31 to September 2. She will represent the EU along with Valdis Dombrovskis at the Innovation Ministerial Meeting held in Ralph-Daleham, focusing on how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies drive economic growth, innovation, supply chain optimization, and skill development. Virkkunen will highlight Europe’s ambition to lead the development of AI by investing in computing infrastructure and establishing “AI factories,” and call for strengthening international cooperation and interoperability to avoid regulatory fragmentation. During her visit, she will hold bilateral meetings with heads of science and technology or economic departments from countries such as the US, Japan, Turkey, India, and Mexico.
