“Argentines protest against Peter Thiel”
Silicon Valley billionaire and co-founder of Palantir, Peter Thiel, spent $12 million to purchase a luxury house in Argentina and engage in local political activities, triggering public protests. After several closed-door talks between Thiel and Argentine President Javier Milei and his advisors, Milei’s government proposed proposals that benefited them, including sharing citizen personal data between the civil department and national intelligence agencies. Many speculated that Thiel moved to Argentina to avoid war, but he became deeply involved in local affairs. The Argentine Chamber of Deputies invited Thiel and Milei to answer questions related to these issues, but neither attended. Subsequently, Argentines held protests in front of Thiel’s house.
