The 15th China Intellectual Property Annual Conference opened in Beijing. Shen Changyu, Director of the National Intellectual Property Administration, said that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s intellectual property efforts have achieved new development, new leaps, and new improvements. In the future, the plans and arrangements of the “15th Five-Year Plan” will be implemented to optimize environmental protection, enhance utilization efficiency, and build a new pattern of international cooperation. Wu Wengang, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, emphasized that Shaanxi will aim to become a model intellectual property-rich province in the western region and deeply integrate into the global innovation landscape. Wang Guoqiang, General Manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, proposed increasing the effective supply of intellectual property, accelerating the improvement of application efficiency, and unlocking the value of data. Antti Sakari Rivaali, Director of the Finnish Patent and Registration Agency, suggested tapping the potential of intellectual property protection mechanisms to benefit all parties involved in innovation. Karsten Fink, Chief Economist of the World Intellectual Property Organization, pointed out that Chinese innovation is driving the expansion of global technological frontiers, and more and more countries are benefiting from Chinese innovation. This year’s conference featured 1 main forum, 13 sub-forums, and over 20 concurrent activities, focusing on topics such as trademark law reform and artificial intelligence.
