The chips haven’t entered China, but computing power has.

On September 8, 2026, Huawei launched the “Kunpeng” series of processors and the “Ascend” series of AI chips, marking the official entry of domestic computing power into the Chinese market. Although high-end physical chips have not yet been imported on a large scale or completely replaced by domestic alternatives, the domestic computing power capabilities have significantly improved through the software ecosystem and heterogeneous computing architectures. This initiative aims to break through external technological blockades and build an independent and controllable computing power infrastructure system.
