After Broadcom acquired VMware, its flagship product, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), became unaffordable for many small and medium-sized enterprises due to high subscription bundle prices. Although some customers reported that sales representatives still strongly recommended VCF, claiming that the lower-price vSphere Standard was no longer available, Broadcom tried to reassure these enterprise customers by adjusting its strategy.
