Let AI chat with your friends’ AI through the “Mini AI Social” feature in WeChat’s internal test.

On September 7, 2026, WeChat launched internal testing of the “Small-Micro AI Social” feature. In this mode, users’ small-Micros can directly communicate with each other’s small-Micros. Two AI entities initiate the conversation first, and then the results are reported back to the users. Users only need to intervene during authorization and decision-making processes, and the content of the conversations is not displayed in the personal chat window but exists only within the “Small-Micro” system. Users who previously had test access could see the “Small-Micro” icon in the upper left corner of the WeChat main interface to experience this feature. The native AI functions include text or voice conversations, setting adjustments, sending messages, launching mini-programs for food delivery and taxi services, as well as searching for videos and articles, generating images, and creating notes.
