GAC Group: In 2021, GAC Capital invested in Changxin Technology, and its forward-looking layout finally paid off.
In 2021, GAC Group invested in ChangXin Technology through its GAC Capital. At that time, the global automotive industry was facing the pain of “chip shortages,” and achieving independent control over the supply chain became a common challenge for the entire industry. In response to this challenge, GAC clearly stated its intention to strengthen investment in the chip sector and cooperation with upstream and downstream players in the industry, aiming to enhance supply chain independence and overall competitiveness. Five years later, this forward-looking strategy has borne fruit: in July 2026, ChangXin Technology officially listed on the STAR Market of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, setting a record for the largest IPO in the A-share market that year. Now, the successful mass production of ChangXin LPDDR6 marks China’s domestic memory chips as part of the world’s top tier. In recent years, GAC has invested in over 29 technology companies in the chip sector, covering chip design, wafer manufacturing, packaging and testing, and applications in automotive terminals. Additionally, focusing on future trends in the automotive industry, GAC has invested in more than 140 high-quality companies, including Horizon Robotics, Yuexin Semiconductor, Pony.ai, WeRide, and Qingtao Energy, with a total of 49 companies listing on the capital market. To date, 20 of these invested companies have gone public.
