The 84th World Science Fiction Convention announced the winners of the 2026 Hugo Awards in September 2026. American author H.H. Pak won the Best Novella award for his short story “Never Eaten Vegetables” at the age of 25, becoming the youngest winner in history; George R.R. Martin won the award at the age of 26 for “A Song for Lya”. Other major awards included: The Best Novel was awarded to “The Everlasting” by Alix E. Harrow, and Netflix has announced that it will be adapted into a television series; the Best Novella prize went to “The River Has Roots” by Amal El-Mohtar; the Best Series Award went to John Scalzi’s “Old Man’s War” series; and the Best Science Fiction Television Series award was given to episode nine of “Murderbot” on Apple TV+, titled “All Syste…”.
