The judge ruled that X’s platform competitors must not use the “Twitter” name.
U.S. District Judge Colm F. Connolly in Delaware ruled to prohibit startup Operation Bluebird from continuing to use the “Twitter” trademark, but temporarily allowed them to use the “Tweet” trademark and the Twitter Bird logo. Operation Bluebird previously launched the “Twitter.now” website attempting to reinvent the Twitter experience and incorporate an AI fact-checking system. Elon Musk’s X platform has already initiated legal action in court. This ruling is not final; X platform hoped to prevent them from using all related trademarks, and the case will continue to be reviewed to determine whether X still retains rights to other Twitter-related trademarks after the name change. Operation Bluebird has renamed its website “Tweet.app” and made it officially available, while charging users $20 for username setup to cover litigation costs.
