Sony’s ROG Rapture GT-BN98 series, the world’s first commercially available Wi-Fi 8 consumer router, was launched in Canada on September 4. The series includes two models: GT-BN98 Pro (6GHz+6GHz+5GHz+2.4GHz) and GT-BN98 (6GHz+5GHz+5GHz+2.4GHz), both equipped with a 2.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of memory, and 256MB of flash memory. In terms of wireless specifications, each frequency band supports 4T4R and 4096-QAM modulation. The GT-BN98 Pro has a theoretical total throughput of 30,000 Mbps, while the GT-BN98 reaches 25,000 Mbps. For wired connections, it offers 2 10 Gbps ports and 4 2.5 Gbps LAN ports, with support for 20 Gbps link aggregation.
