Apple submitted so-called “shocking” new evidence in its lawsuit against former employee Liu Chang, accusing him of providing company confidential data to competitor OpenAI. The newly disclosed evidence shows that Liu Chang used an internal Apple engineering tool to use top-secret circuit diagrams in OpenAI’s work, and OpenAI was allegedly aware and helped him destroy the relevant evidence in June. Currently, Apple has sought a court order to prevent OpenAI from using Apple technology to develop hardware and to accelerate the forensics process. The scope of allegations involved in this lawsuit has expanded; Apple claims that more than 400 former Apple employees are now working at OpenAI.
