“Dialogue Without Boundaries” by Zhang Yufeng: Embodied intelligence is expected to match the working capacity of adults in 5 years”
Zhang Yufeng, founder and CEO of Boundless Power, said at the 2026 Abule Forum Summer Annual Meeting that embodied intelligence is roughly at the autonomous driving stage around 2019. It is expected that in 5 years, it will reach the level where adults can “work towards labor, think, and perform tasks”. He believes that humanoid and semi-human robots could enter households in the next two to three years, and they need to possess 3 to 5 key skills with high demand, such as laundry, drying clothes, and dishwashing. Zhang Yufeng believes that the valuation of the embodied intelligence sector will return to rationality, and the core of competition lies in intelligence and model brains. He emphasized that the technology approach should be based on a hidden space world model, allowing the human brain to establish causal relationships under low power consumption for cognition, modeling, and predicting the world.
