On September 7, 2026, the open-source community project Xe Iaso announced that it had completed integrating WebAssembly Proof-of-Work into the Anubis anti-crawling gateway developed by Techaro. As a protection layer deployed before websites, Anubis required visitors to complete a PoW challenge to enter; previously, it was implemented entirely in Java. The integration process took one year, involving hundreds of code submissions, five rounds of pull requests, and dozens of test cases.
