Apple has completed the acquisition of Sonera, a California-based brain imaging technology company, with the aim of integrating non-invasive neural signal monitoring technology into the health functions of the Apple Watch. Founded in 2018, Sonera’s wearable sensors capture brain neural signals by detecting magnetic signals generated by muscle activity. This technology enables precise意念 control without the need for implantable devices and can be used for prosthetic control and consumer-grade wearable devices. Although the EU database indicates that the transaction was completed in May 2026, neither party has officially announced it, and Sonera’s official website has been discontinued. Founder Nishita Deka stated that the company is committed to developing brain imaging technology towards more portable, user-friendly, and high-performance versions.
