OpenAI released ChatGPT Images 2.5: New Sketch function added and latency reduced

On September 9, OpenAI announced the official release of ChatGPT Images 2.5. This update aims to improve image generation efficiency and interaction experience. Key improvements include a 50% reduction in generation latency and the addition of a Sketch sketch function, allowing users to directly generate corresponding images by drawing sketches. The image generation model in this version has been used over 3 billion times on existing platforms and APIs. The new version also enhances multi-round instruction compliance, response speed, and accuracy in retaining the main elements of reference images. Two new model IDs have been added to the API: gpt-image-2.5-sunburst (for high-precision editing workflows) and gpt-image-2.5-flare (for fast, high-quality daily generation). Additionally, the official CLI tool openai_image.py has been updated to support the input of multiple reference images, along with relevant usage examples.
