The maintainer of the open-source project got angry: “Use AI to flood PRs and resumes; go somewhere else.”
Neil Alexander, the maintainer of the open-source project, wrote to call for stopping the use of AI-generated content that contaminates open-source projects in order to enrich resumes. He pointed out that in the past year, the pattern of external contributions has changed significantly: the number of pull requests has far exceeded that of issues, and issues often come with AI analyses. Security vulnerability reports also frequently contain repair suggestions generated by AI. Alexander said that while he does not rule out the authenticity of some contributions, he is concerned that such behavior may damage the quality of the projects.
