A woman identified as Jane Doe 4 joined three teenagers from Tennessee in filing a class action lawsuit against xAI, a subsidiary of Musk, alleging that its chatbot Grok was involved in creating materials for child sexual abuse. According to The Washington Post, the woman said her stepfather used Grok to convert a photo of her at the age of 11 into over 7,000 explicit images; her stepfather committed suicide within two days after the images were discovered by law enforcement. The teenagers claimed that xAI failed to take basic precautions to prevent Grok from generating explicit images involving real people, including minors, and sought class action status.
