HPE makes its “unified storage” claim real as B10000 R6 hits GA

On September 8, 2026, HPE announced that Alletra Storage MP B10000 Release 6 had officially entered the generalization phase. Based on a decentralized expansion architecture and a unified operating system code library, this product integrates block storage and file storage onto the same platform, supporting independent expansion of both performance and capacity. Its purpose is to address the limitations of traditional unified storage, where controllers and capacity are purchased together. B10000 R6 inherently has the ability to detect ransomware across both types of workloads and expands HPE’s AI-driven operations model. Through Data Services Cloud Console, users can access autonomous health assessments, Storage Copilot natural language interaction, and Agentic Support Automation for unsigned anomaly detection, enabling the identification of potential disruption risks such as capacity consumption before thresholds are triggered.
