Alibaba's Brand+ initiative accelerated new market expansion, resulting in triple-digit growth in several key categories in South Korea. In August, brands became the main drivers of growth on Alibaba South Korea’s platform. The GMV of mini PC categories increased by more than 2 times month-on-month, while storage categories saw growth of over 150%. Outdoor entertainment categories such as fishing gear experienced significant growth. Through “Super Brand Day”, brands secured resources within the platform, selected products based on popular fishing methods, promoted through KOLs, and distributed through local affiliate marketing channels, ultimately achieving a year-over-year GMV increase of nearly 50%. In the same month, the auto parts brand Etenwolf focused on South Korean models, and its GMV increased by over 40% year-on-year. The brand utilized platform data insights, released reviews through influencer networks, built user awareness, and converted traffic from outside the platform, completing the entire process from traffic to conversion. The earphone brand QCY also attracted target consumers outside the platform through a KOL matrix, achieving high sales volumes through Super Brand Day within the platform.
