America's most innovative businesses 2027
Business Insider, in collaboration with Plant-A Insights, released the list of “America’s Most Innovative Companies 2027”, identifying 500 large US listed companies with significant R&D investment and outstanding results. The study was based on analysis of over 4,000 publicly traded companies, incorporating patent data, industry reputation, and R&D investment performance for screening. Selected companies must be independent legal entities, headquartered in the US, and listed on the New York Stock Exchange or NASDAQ after 2020. Additionally, more than 1,600 companies with at least 1,000 employees participated in the evaluation through a large-scale national survey from April to October 2025. Over 67,000 American professionals provided more than 260,000 peer reviews to measure a company’s reputation for innovation in new technologies and artificial intelligence; meanwhile, patent data from 2020 to 2025 and SEC Form 10-K documents were used to evaluate absolute R&D investment…
