Yet beneath these ruins lies a new “gold mine” – the data generated by drones will become an important component of artificial intelligence architectures, even reshaping civilian life. Each drone flight collects thousands of point data points, including images, videos, and controller inputs, which together depict how machines and humans respond in rapidly changing environments. In January, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense announced that millions of data points from tens of thousands of flight missions would be made available to military contractors and private companies. Since then, over 100 companies and the British government have been granted access. For countries engaged in war, this is a quick way to obtain funding and partnerships.
