Hualong One 2.0 version was first introduced globally

On September 7, 2026, China General Nuclear Power Group held its 2026 Annual Sustainable Development Conference in Shenzhen, where Huadrong One 2.0 was introduced to the world for the first time. This version improves quality and efficiency through systematic enhancements based on mature designs. 14 safety features were optimized on top of the existing deep defense security system, resulting in significant improvements in key indicators. It enables no intervention by operators within 72 hours after an accident and self-organization within 7 days. By simplifying auxiliary system configurations, the pipeline length was reduced by approximately 31%, process valves by about 25%, the volume of nuclear island buildings decreased by 21%, and nuclear installation volume was reduced by approximately 33%. At the same time, the proportion of automated operation of the unit increased by 66%, and key equipment achieved 100% domestic production capability. During the conference, the new “Umo system”, the world’s first 8.6-meter-opening solar thermal collector “Yuanyao No.1”, and China General Nuclear Power Group’s proton therapy system were also introduced. The “2025 Annual Sustainable Development Report” was released, and the global corporate responsibility brand “CGN Firefly Plan” was launched.
