On September 8, 2026, Mercedes-Benz launched the ‘Tomorrow XX’ sustainability initiative, aimed at driving industry transformation through decarbonization, recycling, and intelligent manufacturing. Key measures of this initiative include using lamp designs that fix components with screws rather than glue, allowing owners to repair damaged parts only when necessary, thereby significantly reducing maintenance costs and waste emissions. Additionally, the new lamp design uses a single material, which is expected to reduce carbon emissions during the product’s life cycle by nearly half. In the coming years, this initiative will be expanded to include more aspects such as vehicle bodies, interior components, and batteries. Recycling facilities for end-of-life vehicles will also be established in Germany to promote the recycling of brake pads, plastic residues, and airbag materials, thereby establishing a complete circular economy system from production to recycling.
