According to the latest report by Moody’s rating agency, there is a significant gap in spending on artificial intelligence between U.S. and Chinese tech giants. However, the actual advantage of Chinese companies in computing power is not completely offset by the high U.S. budgets. Thanks to lower domestic costs and strong government support, Chinese companies can obtain more computing resources per dollar spent. Although U.S. super-large data centers are far more expensive than their Chinese counterparts, the gap in physical computing capacity between the two is much smaller than the budget differences suggest.
