According to a report released by SEMI, the global shipment value of semiconductor equipment reached $40.53 billion in the second quarter of 2026, a 23% increase year-over-year and a 11% increase quarter-on-quarter. Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI, said that this figure set a new record for two consecutive quarters, reflecting the industry’s trend of increasing investment in advanced manufacturing capacity to meet growing chip demands, especially those related to AI infrastructure. Growth occurred across all three major regions: Asia, North America, and Europe, highlighting the critical role of semiconductor manufacturing in driving the next wave of AI-driven innovation.
