Microsoft plans to adjust Copilot Studio starting from September, requiring manual approval for AI agents before invoking tools. Copilot Studio is Microsoft’s platform for building and managing AI agents, capable of connecting with business tools such as email, work orders, and payments. Microsoft states that for each tool and each agent, any tool invocation that requires manual approval will be paused, and an approval request will be displayed to explain the agent’s intent, allowing users to approve, approve the session, or reject it before proceeding with the action. Microsoft identified three applicable scenarios: sending emails, closing work orders, and processing payments. Once these actions are configured for approval, the AI agent cannot continue to execute them on its own.
