Establishes first brain-computer interface dedicated zone; the 2026 China International Welfare Expo opens in Beijing
The `2026 China International Welfare Expo and China International Rehabilitation Expo` opened in Beijing on September 3, with a dedicated area for brain-computer interfaces. This area showcased application results of various technologies, from invasive to non-invasive methods, including visual reconstruction and limb rehabilitation. Mingshi Brain Technology's implantable visual reconstruction system is now in the stage of engineering finalization and registration testing; the lightweight wearable brain-controlled rehabilitation robot developed by Yanshan University has undergone clinical testing at the First Hospital of Qinhuangdao, with results showing significant recovery in motor abilities for stroke patients after three to five months of training. Wu Xiaogao, director of the Industrial Promotion Office of the China Disabled Persons' Assistive Devices Center, said that this area brings together international resources to promote the expansion of domestic high-quality assistive device companies overseas and industrial development. In the next step, efforts will be made to deepen cooperation among government, industry, academia, and research institutions, and to guide the practical application of cutting-edge technologies such as brain-computer interfaces.
