Why is it illegal to use a Bluetooth jammer?

Recent reports indicate that the use of Bluetooth jammers is explicitly prohibited in many countries and regions. Such devices can disrupt Bluetooth signals, causing IoT devices such as smartphones and smartwatches to fail to connect to networks or lose their control functions. The main reason for legal prohibition lies in public safety risks: at key locations such as airports, hospitals, and schools, signal interruptions can lead to serious consequences, such as navigation failures, medical equipment malfunctions, or blocked emergency communications. Although some users use such tools for privacy protection or to prevent tracking, law enforcement emphasizes that the harm caused by disrupting infrastructure stability far outweighs personal convenience. Currently, many countries have included them on prohibited lists and increased detection and punishment of related devices.
