On the 7th, Huawei launched the Mate XT 2 three-folding phone in Guangzhou, equipped with the Kirin 9050 Pro chip. This chip is the first high-performance product to utilize logical folding technology. The Kirin 9050 Pro arranges logical units hierarchically within a single chip and adds vertical interconnect channels, aiming to shorten signal transmission paths and reduce latency to improve performance. This is the second time in six years that Huawei has introduced a new Kirin chip at its flagship event, following the global launch of the Huawei Mate40.

On September 7, Huawei launched new products such as Mate XT 2, Kirin 9050 Pro, and HarmonyOS 7 in Nansha, Guangzhou. This marked the restart of its chip development after six years and the upgrade of Xiaoyi to a system-level intelligent entity. The new generation three-folding flagship, Mate XT 2, is initially equipped with the Kirin 9050 Pro chip using logical folding technology. It supports the deployment of the 30B MoE model on the terminal side and enables offline execution of some complex tasks. Xiaoyi can now understand user intentions, invoking over 2100 system capabilities and more than 2000 HarmonyOS intelligent entities to perform cross-device tasks. It is transforming from a simple assistant to a system-level intelligent entity capable of completing tasks independently. Huawei plans to exceed 100 million terminal units this fourth quarter, aiming to strengthen the strategic value of the operating system in the AI era through a rich ecosystem and standardized invocation capabilities, and to shift the competition in high-end smartphones from hardware parameters to the overall coordination of OS, models, and hardware.
