Bentley’s Torcal EV tries to balance authenticity with fake V8 sounds

Bentley will launch its first electric SUV, the Bentley Torcal, at the end of this month. This platform is shared with the electric Porsche Cayenne. The editor recently tested the heavy-duty pre-production version of this model and experienced its spacious interior and the smooth and quiet performance provided by the electric drive system. As a product from the Volkswagen Group, the Torcal aims to balance realism with the sound of a V8 engine, in order to compete with competitors such as the Rolls-Royce Spectre, Cadillac Celestiq, and Mercedes-Benz EQS Maybach in the high-end luxury car market.
