DeepSeek embarks on ‘unprecedented’ hiring spree as it overhauls backend systems

Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek has launched a large-scale recruitment campaign aimed at addressing the overload issues in its backend systems caused by a surge in users and computational-intensive AI agent applications. The company plans to recruit approximately 150 senior backend engineers to strengthen its technical infrastructure and enhance system processing capabilities. This recruitment effort, led by Cui Tianyi, a quantitative trading expert who oversees the Harness team, marks DeepSeek’s key strategic steps in addressing high-concurrency challenges.
