Boston Scientific, an American medical device manufacturer, began experiencing cyberattacks on Tuesday, resulting in restrictions on access to critical IT systems and business applications, causing global operational disruptions. The company was unable to ship products or process orders, and local Irish media reported that thousands of employees were forced to return home due to communication interruptions. Although it has not been confirmed whether services for patients using implanted medical devices were affected, the company treats approximately 48 million patients annually.
