China targets fourfold boost in AI computing capacity by 2030 in major tech push

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced a five-year industry plan on Monday, aiming to significantly enhance the country’s intelligent computing capabilities. The plan sets a goal to increase intelligent computing power to 9,800 eflops by 2030 and to deploy artificial intelligence computing clusters containing 100,000 accelerators. To achieve this vision, the national intelligent computing infrastructure will be significantly expanded over the next five years, and investment in related fields will be increased.
