To address the shortage of memory chips in the AI data center industry caused by AI, Google has announced two key new requirements for Android applications. First, developers must reduce application memory usage and optimize their code to alleviate device memory shortages and poor user experience due to limited hardware supply. Google will establish new performance thresholds for dynamic memory and bitmap usage, introduce monitoring tools, and plan to implement diagnostic features such as Memory Limiter. Second, all Play Store applications must meet the zero-click login requirement during device migration by April 2027. Developers need to meet these new standards by February 2027.
