On August 27, 2026, Pollen Robotics, a subsidiary of Hugging Face, officially launched the two-legged robot Microduck, priced at $399. The robot is 25 centimeters tall and weighs less than 800 grams. It can walk, turn over, skate, and use its beak to pick up objects. It is equipped with cameras, lidar, and IMU sensors. Its software stack is developed based on the open-source project Open Duck Mini and is fully open-source under the Apache 2.0 license. Users can interact with and customize it using a controller or NFC tags, and it can be directly deployed after training in simulated environments. Clem Delangue, CEO of Hugging Face, said that this product aims to democratize embodied intelligence through physical AI and world models.
