On September 8, 2026, Adobe announced updates to Premiere Pro, reimagining its AI interactions to support the direct generation of audio and video within the timeline. The newly introduced “Generative Media” tool allows users to generate editable videos, sound effects, music, and soundscapes based on context by simply selecting empty areas in the timeline, without having to switch applications. This feature integrates multiple AI models such as Adobe Firefly, Google Veo, Runway, Luma, and Kylor, and includes a beta version of AI audio functionality that supports voice separation, automatic music noise reduction, and independent adjustment of dialogue and ambient sounds. Additionally, Adobe plans to introduce natural language AI assistants in After Effects, and all of the above new features are currently in testing phase.
