Expanding our support for scientists
On August 27, 2026, Claude announced the launch of “Claude team plan for scientists,” offering 10,000 free and discounted subscription spots to scientists worldwide. Standard seats are free, while advanced seats (with 5 times more usage rights) are available for $15 per month. Researchers can also apply for up to $50,000 in AI for Science credit. In addition to subscriptions, Claude has expanded its AI for Science program to support researchers in fields beyond biology and chemistry. It also plans to collaborate with the U.S. government to establish a dedicated access channel for Mythos models for life science research. Currently, fields such as biology and drug development are still limited to Opus models, and Fable models continue to be restricted for professional inquiries due to the risk of dual-use.
