On September 7, 2026, Huawei launched its third triple-fold screen phone, the Mate XT2, in China. This model adopts the same inner-folding design as Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold and for the first time introduces a privacy-enhancing display feature to the foldable screen category, mimicking the technology added by Samsung on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The previously released Mate XT featured an accordion-style inner folding design, but some of its screens were permanently exposed due to the absence of an additional outer cover. As the world’s first triple-fold screen phone with a built-in privacy display function, Mate XT2, despite its high price, marks the implementation of this technology in the foldable screen category.
