Dedicated R&D center established in Shanghai; AUDI aims to shorten its vehicle development cycle to 24 months

AUDI Corporation and SAIC Group established the AITC in Shanghai, aiming to reduce the vehicle development cycle to 24 months. This joint venture serves the AUDI brand and possesses comprehensive vehicle development and end-to-end R&D capabilities. Feng Siyuan serves as the general manager, while Shan Yunwei serves as the deputy general manager; the team consists of approximately 300 people. AITC focuses on the research and development of intelligent electric technology and vehicle development, particularly performance tuning, AI-powered infotainment systems, and next-generation advanced driving assistance systems. R&D will be conducted around the AUDI ADP 2.0 intelligent digital platform. Both parties plan to jointly develop four new AUDI models based on this platform, with the first model expected to be launched in 2028. Shu Ruize stated that the team will accelerate design and testing processes through artificial intelligence and will pay attention to OTA updates and software iteration. Additionally, AITC will undertake continuous improvement of existing products and promote AUDI to become one of the first advanced autonomous driving brands to enter the market after relevant regulations are implemented.
