“500 intelligent computing centers across the country: half is seawater, half is flame”

As of September 8, 2026, approximately half of the about 500 intelligent computing centers deployed or planned across China are facing severe challenges. These facilities encounter extreme climatic conditions such as high temperatures and humidity during site selection and construction, resulting in unstable operation or hindered construction progress for some of them. Relevant reports indicate that such extreme environments pose extremely high requirements for the heat dissipation design and site selection of computing infrastructure, thereby affecting the progress of the national intelligent computing network development.
