The U.S. Department of Defense is expected to release a new version of its network strategy as early as next week. This strategy, developed over several months by Assistant Secretary Kati Sutton’s office, will be the first comprehensive network framework since 2023. The new strategy focuses on three priorities: first, integrating network capabilities across all combat domains; second, gaining an advantage over enemies; and third, restructuring network forces to enhance skills and agility. The strategy aims to create “the most capable, lethal, and agile network force in the world,” transforming the White House’s “U.S. Network Strategy” into specific military priorities and establishing a clear vision for applying artificial intelligence within U.S. network forces. Additionally, the new strategy is closely related to the “U.S. Network Command 2.0” plan, emphasizing providing network options to combat commanders and integrating them with conventional military forces.
