Fashion startup Atorie announced the completion of a seed financing of $9.5 million led by a16z speedrun, Night Capital, and Lightspeed Ventures. The company aims to eliminate the premium price difference by allowing consumers to directly purchase bags and clothing made from the same materials and produced in the same factories as high-end brands. Atorie’s products are significantly cheaper than those of Prada or Louis Vuitton; its Italian leather handbags cost only a few hundred dollars. Co-founder Redouane Ramdani emphasized that these products are not imitations, but are manufactured in the same factory using the same techniques and do not fall under the category of fast fashion. This model uses AI technology to assist factories in small-batch production and inventory management, addressing the risks of inventory accumulation and customer loss caused by large-scale orders in the traditional luxury industry.
