MoReEye – AI-Powered Report Generation Directly from Surgical Videos
On August 25, 2026, DFKI of Darmstadt, Germany, and MARIS Healthcare GmbH launched the MoReEye project. The goal of this project is to use AI to directly analyze surgical videos and automatically generate ophthalmological surgical reports. The project involves automatically extracting relevant information from videos and converting it into drafts through text generation components. It also helps identify errors, inconsistencies, and omissions. Doctors retain ultimate control over the generated texts, allowing them to review, correct, and approve them. This reduces the burden on hospital staff, lowers the risk of accuracy due to memory mistakes, makes reports more readily available, improves document quality, and helps international colleagues integrate into routine clinical workflows. The project period is from June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2028.
