On September 7, 2026, Volcano Engine officially launched the Milvus Vector Lakebase beta service. This service aims to solve the problem of frequent migration required for retrieval and analysis of unstructured data in traditional architectures. Through direct connection between external lake tables and object storage technology, data can be retrieved, explored, and analyzed without physical migration. Its core feature is on-demand activation and deactivation, effectively reducing the costs associated with idle resources and redundant transfers. Currently, this service is in the beta phase.

Volcanic Engine officially launched the Milvus Vector Lakebase beta service. This service supports the retrieval, exploration, and analysis of unstructured data, and enables data to be accessed without relocation by directly connecting external lake tables to object storage.
