Google VP Amin Vahdat on AI bubble: genuine technological transformation and market demand do exist
Amin Vahdat, vice president at Google, responded to doubts about the AI bubble, stating that technological changes and market demand do exist, and that Google’s continued investment in AI is well-founded. Vahdat noted that Google Search underwent significant changes after integrating AI features and an overview function, becoming a better product. Last quarter’s financial report showed a 18% year-over-year increase in this business, indicating that AI has brought new momentum to existing services. Meanwhile, Google Cloud continued to grow, providing infrastructure such as TPUs, GPUs, and CPUs to users worldwide, proving that the demand for AI is real. Regarding the bubble issue, Vahdat said he could not judge from an economist’s perspective, but confirmed that the global trend of AI transformation is very real. He cited the development of the Internet 25 years ago as an example, pointing out that even after the Internet bubble burst in 2001, the Internet continued to develop and change society and industries. Similarly, the technological transformations and opportunities brought by AI will continue to change the world.
